Fundraising Updates

For the 2013-14 school year, you helped raise over $30,000 to support our students and staff. Focused on four main fundraisers, we increased donations by nearly 11% over the prior year. (Complete PTA budget details are available here.)

2013-14 RHS PTA FundraisingLooking ahead to next year, we are making changes to fundraising for the 2014-15 school year.  In  response to your feedback, we will offer new choices for donating to Randolph Heights that:

  • support a strong and healthy school community
  • give all families choices for participation
  • reduce the amount of “plastic junk” coming home with kids

Randy’s Fun Run – On October 15 we will be partnering with Apex Fun Run to host Randy’s Fun Run. All students will participate in this get-out-and-move activity during the school day. Students will be encouraged to gather pledges to benefit Randolph Heights. Families can help their children collect pledges and cheer them on at the event. Apex will provide staff to visit classrooms to generate excitement leading up to the event, collect and process all pledges, provide a t-shirt to every student (regardless of pledges collected) as well as prizes for gathering pledges along the way, and manage all aspects of the run itself. Randolph Heights will receive 52% of all pledges made. The remainder covers Apex’s costs. Watch for more information in the fall. To learn more about Apex, visit

Fall Festival – Teaming up with our Green & Healthy Kids team, we will be hosting a community-wide fall festival on October 30. Families and neighbors will have the chance to meet up and get their groove on in the Monster Mash Disco; enjoy pizza, caramel apples and popcorn; browse the RHS “boutique”; and visit with nearly 30 local vendors in the Healthy Resources Fair. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Randolph Heights.

We look forward to getting your feedback on these new fundraising events. If you have an idea to share, a suggestion or want to lend a hand, please give us a call or send us an email.
