Open Forum Event: Rethinking School Start Times

Dear Randolph Heights Families,

Please join us this Monday, October 24 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the RHS cafetorium for an open forum regarding the proposed change to school start times beginning with the 2018-19 school year.

The SPPS school board will be hearing arguments on Tuesday, October 25 and voting at their Tuesday, November 15 meeting.

The discussion will focus on the school board proposal from both sides, consider the potential pitfalls and the potential strengths and help us decide if these changes are: (1) the change we want for our school schedule; (2) if this proposal has been well thought out from all angles; (3) if this is an expense and transition that is worth undergoing for our district; and (4) other options or changes to the proposal we would like to see. We will be inviting the school board members to the meeting, but given the last minute nature they may or may not be able to attend.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Due to the timing of this meeting separate childcare arrangements are in process but have not been confirmed; children are welcome to attend. This event is open to all SPPS parents/guardians.

If you cannot attend the meeting we urge you to share your opinions via the feedback button via the links above and/or attend the school board meeting on Tuesday, October 25.

As part of our PTA mission we aim to inform our school community and advocate what is best for our students. Let’s make this decision the best we can for our children to thrive in school. Please contact if you have any questions.
