SPPS and Gender Inclusion

The Randolph Heights PTA exists, in part, “To provide information and facilitate communication between and among parents and the school and district.” To that end, we wanted to be clear about the district’s policies on gender inclusion. We are proud of School Board member Steve Marchese for his statement on the issue earlier this week:

Nearly two years ago, the SPPS board adopted a gender inclusion policy that provides clear guidelines and support for students regarding student gender expression. I am proud of the decision my predecessors made in 2015 and stand behind it today. This policy remains in force in our schools, regardless of any recent changes to the contrary at the federal level.
