We Love Our Teachers!

It is almost time for the annual Teacher Appreciation Week.

From April 29-May 3, we’ll spend a week celebrating and thanking our teachers in lots of fun ways. Parents and students can get involved by cleaning and decorating the Teacher’s Lounge, donating breakfast and lunch meals or items, and leaving notes and gifts for teachers.

Here are some ways you can help:

teacher breakfast1. PROVIDE FOOD

Teachers LOVE this effort! In the past, parents have donated meals, partial meals, snacks, or beverages during the breakfast and lunch hours in the Teacher’s Lounge. You can donate a homemade or store-bought item ranging from beverages to bars. Some families have combined efforts and donations to provide a whole meal for the staff — there are so many great local restaurants close to our school.

2. VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

We need some folks to donate their time in the Lounge during that week as well. We need people to decorate the tables, set-up/replenish lunch food, put away leftovers and wash teachers’ dishes. Last year, someone donated a bucket of cleaning supplies . . . someone else donated fancy hand soap and lotion in the lounge and the staff restrooms — what great and simple ideas!!

3. GET STUDENTS INVOLVED

Get your child — and possibly a few of their friends — to create posters to decorate the staff entryways and lounge. Our students can also get together briefly on Sunday evening (weather permitting) to decorate the staff parking lot/sidewalks with sidewalk chalk art and thank you notes.

Monetary donations are always accepted and put to good use via food, paper products, sidewalk chalk, cleaning supplies, etc. Please view the sign-up sheet and let me know how you would like to help out!
