The Apex Fun Run is here!

Facebook Elementary SchoolWe’re kicking off our second annual Apex Fun Run fundraiser! 

During a quick afternoon pep rally today, students will learn about the Fun Run (Fri., December 4th), meet their Apex team leaders, get a sneak peek of the upcoming leadership lessons and receive their Pledge Kits.

Last year’s Fun Run raised over $23,000 that was used by the PTA to directly support learning enrichment activities within and beyond our classrooms (e.g., field trips, in-class experiences to support core knowledge, special classroom supplies, etc.).

Students will be working together over the next two weeks to prepare for the Fun Run on Friday, December 4. While we’re crossing our fingers for good weather to be outside, we do have a plan for running inside at Edgcumbe Rec Center. Here’s the schedule for each classroom:

Outdoor Run Schedule:
Grades 1 & 2: 9:50-10:50 a.m.
Grades K & 3: 10:50-11:50 a.m.
Grades 4 & 5: 1:25-2:25 p.m.
Indoor Run Schedule:
5th Grade: 9:25-10:15 a.m.
4th Grade: 10:15-11:05 a.m.
Kindergarten: 11:05-11:55 a.m.
1st Grade: 12:25-1:15 p.m.
2nd Grade: 1:15-2:05 p.m.
3rd Grade: 2:05-2:45 p.m.

Volunteers Needed!

We need volunteers to join our “High Five Crew” at the end of the school day on Weds., November 25th and Thurs., December 3rd. On the day of the Fun Run (Fri., December 4th), we need volunteers to help set-up the course, check-off laps, pass out water and cheer on our students.
